The Coastal Tailed Frog and Northern Red-Legged Frog are listed as a Special Concern by SARA, but no records exist in the BC Government Conservation Data center (2020). Coastal-tailed frogs are rare on islands (vii) and the geographically isolated Gambier Island population is probably unique from surrounding mainland populations.

On March 15, 2022, a group of 16 volunteers worked to remove the very invasive English Holly from the Long Bay Wetlands Nature Reserve

On Oct 3, 2021 we enjoyed our first group hike with community members from all over the island.

We are still very concerned with the proposed logging in the headwaters of Whispering Creek.

In response to logging threats, the Conservancy is undertaking monitoring for endangered species.
