Join us for a very fun day removing the many Invasive Species from the Long Bay Wetlands Nature reserve

We’ll be working on cleaning up some of the debris left from the Holly work that has been done over the last several years, as well as starting to focus on other invasives such as Tansy Ragwort, and Himalayan Blackberry.

1) Equipment is provided, but if you have a favourite pair of clippers bring them along

2) Clothing - we’d recommend long pants and boots. Gloves - if you have them will also be very helpful

3) Lunch will be provided but please bring your own water bottle. If you have any special food requirements just let us know!

4) Transportation is provided from Horseshoe Bay to Brigade Bay on Gambier Island. A water taxi will leave Horseshoe Bay at 9:15 AM, and depart from Brigade Bay at 3:30 PM for a return trip to Horseshoe Bay. If you would like to be on the water taxi, please contact us at gambierconservancy@gmail.com as soon as possible.

5) We may also be able to arrange a water taxi from West Bay to the Sea Ranch in Long Bay. Its a short (20 - 25 minutes) flat walk to the Nature Reserves from the drop off dock at the Sea Ranch. If you are interested please email us at gambierconservancy@gmail.com
